An essential item for switch-modding, this metal Switch Opener for MX switches allows you to pop them open in seconds.

Sturdier than 3D printed variants, this should last you a lifetime of typing.

Simply place a switch in the Opener, making sure to align it with the guides, and push downwards until the top housing pops up.

This will only work for MX/Cherry style switches, Kailh-style will not fit.

Note: Switches sold separately; MX Switch Opener only.

Highly Recommend

This is a great product, it's reassuringly sturdy but not too heavy and works like a charm, even on switches that have notoriously tight housings like KTT. The finger indentations also really help, it's a small detail but I think it would be missed were it not there. And it's cheaper than many of the other metal alternatives too, so a thumbs up all 'round from me!

Saves a lot of time

I used a small flathead screwdriver when I lubed my first lot of switches and, while I got reasonably adept at opening them, it was a tedious process. I'm sure this is like most switch openers - it's the first one I've used - but it did cut down the time and effort of opening switches enough to make it easily worth the outlay. I'm not sure how often I'm likely to be opening switches, now that my keyboard is done, but even so, no regrets on getting this.

It's great

I mean yeah it opens the switch real easy, what more can I say it's opened 85-ish switches so far and it's great
